Galileo - Suspect X - Movie

A murder case has occurred and the police are unable to find loopholes in the alibi of the main suspect, Ms Yasuko Hanaoka, thus creating obstacles in the investigation. Detective Kaoru Utsumi again sought the help of professor Manabu Yukawa who, seeing the case has nothing to do with physics, initially refuses to help. However, after a happy reunion with his genius classmate, Tetsuya Ishigami, for whom he has high admiration and who is also the neighbor of the main suspect, he senses that Ishigami is in love with Hanaoka and decides to investigate the case on his own. He succeeds in cracking the case only to reveal a sad and shocking truth that will do no good to all parties save the police. Despite having a reputation of being emotionless when solving cases, this time Yukawa is much affected by the outcome.

The introduction of Yabe's new sidekick, a proud and arrogant Toudai graduate. The last half of the final episode of the 3rd Season, the love-hate and unspoken relationship between Yamada and Ueda may look like it has entered a new stage.

TRICK - season 1

Although 23-year-old Naoko Yamada (Yukie Nakama) considers herself a beautiful and talented magician, she is continuously fired and constantly hounded by her landlady for the rent being late. Before firing her, her manager shows Yamada an ad for a physics professor, Jiro Ueda (Hiroshi Abe), a non-believer of all things magical, offering money to anyone who can prove to him that magic is real. Desperately needing the money, Naoko accepts the challenge, which is how she comes to meet Professor Ueda. Falling prey to her simple magic tricks, Ueda is impressed, and enlists the reluctant Naoko to help him uncover the tricks behind a local cult. Soon, they are debunking spiritualists. Eventually Ueda develops a reputation for solving supernatural cases, but his secret weapon is Yamada, who hates the work but needs the money.

Season one introduces the main characters, as well as a would-be suitor for Yamada (this plotline will be abandoned after season one). The over-arching plot is that a true psychic killed Yamada's father, and that person may be Yamada herself. Fraudulent psychics include: Big Mother (cultist, clairvoyant), Miracle Mitsui (makes things disappear), Kurosaka Miyuki (the pantomime killer),Katsuragi Koushou (clairvoyant, health guru) and the residents of Kokumontou (a.k.a. Black Gate Island).

Liar Game 1

Kanzaki Nao is an honest college student who receives a hundred million yen one day, along with a card saying she has been chosen to take part in the "Liar Game". The aim of the game is to trick the other players out of their hundred million dollars. At the end, the winner gets the hundred million and the loser is a hundred million yen in debt. The next day, she receives notification that her opponent is her former teacher, Fujisawa Kazuo. She goes to him, seeking help, but ends up getting tricked into handing her money over. Desperate, she approaches the police for help, but they are unable to do anything. However, she is told of a mastermind swindler, Akiyama Shinichi, who is to be released from jail the next day. Desperate, she goes to him for help.
